It’s been 5-1/2 weeks since we left Bar Harbor, Maine and we’ve been busy!
We left Maine Oct 23rd and headed South. We stopped at Dana’s place in North Carolina and had a great visit with him and some other NC Friends. Sheri & Jester, Steve, Theresa & her husband all showed up to visit.
We got to Georgia Oct 28th, parked in my parents driveway and moved into the guest bedroom for a couple weeks.
Trish & Brian got married on Nov 4th. Brian is a Tattoo Artist and they have a Tattoo shop, so I’ve come to the realization that Trish will never stop getting tattooed ~ LOL! Brian’s a good guy and they’re very happy together.

We stayed busy catching up on doctor visits and getting all the tests and checkups done while we were there.
We decided to go ahead and look for a truck while we had time, since we planned on trading the motorhome in for a 5th wheel trailer. We bought a new GMC 4x4 on Oct 14th, and left Georgia the next day.
We drove down to Biloxi, MS to look at a 5th wheel we had been looking at online. We decided against that one and went on to Kirbyville, TX to look at another one. The Mobile Scout in Kirbyville seemed perfect, but was more than we wanted to pay. We left and went to New Braunfels to visit with Ann & Sue. We worked with Ann & Sue all summer in Maine and it was great to get to visit with them again. They have an amazing home and it was so pleasant and relaxing we wish we could’ve stayed longer. We had coffee on the deck in the mornings and drinks around the campfire in the evening.
They even put their Christmas tree out on the deck because they spend so much time out there.
and after barking and being mean all summer, Hannah even calmed down and got along fine with Callie and made friends with Ann & Sue. She ran free in the yard and had a great time.
Sue and Ann have become so special to us, we really feel blessed to have made friends with them this year…and now that Hannah gets along with everyone, we can visit more!
We looked at RV dealers all over the area, but couldn’t really find what we wanted. We ended up putting a deposit on a Jayco Eagle Premier, but I called and cancelled it the next morning. It was 40’ long and I just felt very unsure about a rig that big, when we had never towed a trailer. I called the guy in Kirbyville to see if the Mobile Scout was still there and we drove back to Kirbyville and bought it. We spent 3 nights on the lot, getting our washer & dryer installed and moving in. Here’s a few pictures. I’m in love with the space and comfort of this compared to the motorhome. I think we’ll be very happy in this for a long time.
We accepted a Gate Guard position on Nov 28th & left the dealership with our new home on Nov 29th, heading south.
We arrived on our gate today and should be here for the next few months. We’re in a good area…North of Tilden, TX and only 23 miles from a Super Walmart in Pleasanton. Very little chance of illegal traffic in this area, so we’re happy with it. It’s a busy gate because there’s 12 different wells inside, but that’ll keep us from getting lazy or bored this winter.
We’ll spend the next couple days getting used to the shift work schedule and setting up to make it comfortable. Then we’ll start the task of trying to organize the stuff we moved in a hurry…the kitchen needs to be reworked.

It's beautiful! I think you are going to just love it. We sure like our fiver better than the motorhome, at least for living. Glad to hear you're not near the illegal activity. Way to go Hannah. Making friends is hard for some girls.
