We have been talking to the manager for a couple weeks…got the offer letter today and accepted it. We’re going to the KOA campground in Bar Harbor, Maine. We applied for the housekeeping department…those of you that know how much I hate to clean will understand how much I wanted to go to Maine ~ Ha Ha! Seriously though, I just didn’t want to go back to an office/reservations job again, yet. We’re thrilled and we’re looking forward to lots of Lobster dinners.
The gate guard job is going fine. We’ve been here a month and are getting into a routine. I really enjoy the job and having some downtime. The money is great and there’s no place to spend it, so we can put away some cash this winter.
We’ve made friends with one of the roadrunners that hangs around the motorhome. This one comes running when we walk out…drives the dogs nuts, but he doesn’t pay much attention to them. I feed him chicken bits.
So, the plan is to stay here doing Gate Guard work until April. Then we’ll head to Georgia and spend some time with family, then head up to Maine. We’re have to be there on May 1st, the campground opens May 7th.
So if anyone plans to be in the Bar Harbor area this summer, let us know…we’ll find some place to meet and have lobster.
