Tuesday we were off work, so we took Highway 12 East.
Escalante is about 35 miles on east of us, and there's a great little Natural Food store there. The owner bakes fresh bread every day. She makes up sandwiches and lunches for the tourists & hikers in the area. She gets fresh organic produce once a week, so we can shop there between trips to Cedar City.
We had never been farther east than Escalante, so today we headed on to Boulder.
We stopped for lunch at the Burr Trail Grill. They have great, local grass-fed beef burgers.
Next door is a shop full of local artist crafts & art for sale
Yes, it drops off on both sides of the road, and there's no guardrail here!
All day I was looking for a place to dip my toes in the water....we found this place, just down a small cliff, so we crawled down to it.
Had another wonderful day exploring the area.
