It’s been 2 1/2 months since we lost our Scruffy, so we thought it was about time to find Phoebe a new playmate. Last week I picked out a dog, from an online rescue site, that I thought might be a good playmate for Phoebe. She was a Papillion/Chihuahua mix about 5 years old. I filled out an adoption application last week and talked with the Foster Mom on the phone...we were excited to take Phoebe to meet her this morning.
We got there & took the dog for a walk outside with Phoebe....Phoebe wasn't at all interested in her...sniffed her butt a few times then walked away. We spent quite a while walking around with both of them & there was really no interest. I was disappointed, but knew not to try to force it. We went back in the store and while talking to the Foster Mom, she happens to mention that this dog sometimes has a tendency to try to mark her spot in the house....I definitely don’t want to deal with that in a motorhome.
She said there were more dogs coming, so we took Phoebe & went to get some lunch. Came back in about an hour and met Hannah. It was almost Love at first sight....They really seemed to like each other and Hannah has a lot more spunk than the other dog did. After a few trips outside to visit, we decided to bring her home. Hannah is about 2 years old, weighs around 20 pounds, dropped off at a shelter with another dog...owner claimed they couldn't afford them anymore.
Here she is in the car on the ride home
Playing in the yard with Phoebe at my parents house…Had to go meet Grandma & Grandpa on the way home.
Here’s Phoebe showing her who's boss..
She might be a Daddy's Girl
This is Hannah :)
