Campbellsville, KY

We got to Campbellsville on Thursday afternoon.  We got set up at our site in the State Park.  It's a great campground, large site overlooking the lake.  However, they have no sewer hookups at the site, and the wind off the lake is already pretty chilly.  Here's John walking the pups Friday morning.

On Friday we found another campground with full hookup sites and it's about 2 miles closer to work.  The new campground is a little more crowded but the convenience of having a sewer hookup and being parked right across from the laundry room are worth it to me.  This is a new campground and parts are still under construction.  It's full of Amazon workers, so we think we'll be comfortable here.

We made a trip into town to check out the shopping options.  Found the Super Walmart, but discovered it's a dry county, so no cheap wine at Walmart ~ LOL.  We got directions to the package stores in the neighboring county...it's only about 8 miles away.  There's a Walmart, Lowes, & Kroger..that's about it for shopping other than some Drug stores & Dollar stores.  The closest Target is almost 50 miles away in Elizabethtown.  Whole Foods & Petsmart will require a trip to Louisville.

We're working on staying up late to get used to our new hours.  We'll be working Wed - Sat, 5:00pm - 3:30am.  Phoebe & Hannah are doing fine...exploring the new area and making dog friends in the campground.  Hannah's a great watch dog, but unfortunately she's very vocal about everything.  We're not used to a dog that barks this much...she barks when she gets excited, barks when she goes out (just to notify the world that she's out) barks when she sees anyone else outside, and barks if she hears anything she's not sure about.  She's really a sweetheart and her and Phoebe have become great friends.

We met 3 other couples this evening that have been here working for a couple weeks.  They have a nightly Happy Hour in the clubhouse, so we joined them and learned a lot of helpful information about the job.  We're looking forward to getting started...we have a 2 hour Meet & Greet on Monday afternoon.  Tuesday is Orientation, and we start work on Wednesday.

Hope you like the work. Our Skitz also likes to "greet" the world. Even when there is no world to greet. I think you'll like the sewer hookups since you're going to be there awhile.

It does seem like there is a Walmart every where...AND we shop in them all! Good luck with work and hope we see you on the road again somewhere.
