Settling In At Bar Harbor

It’s almost Memorial Day Weekend and it’s been a busy month getting settled in here and learning the job.

We’ve worked on getting our site cleaned up and the garden started.

This is what it looked like when we started

We cleared this back area for our garden

We put out some solar lights with our stepping stones, and set our Bear on a planter box that we put around an old dead tree stump.  There’s mint planted in that box & extra basil in the hanging pot.

The garden is started…

The two middle planter boxes will be green beans & tomatoes.  Zucchini will go in the ground in front of the boxes.  Lavender is in the wooden box on the left, with brussel sprouts behind the green planter box on the left.  Herbs are in the two end green planters.  It’s still a work in progress.  We’ve only had a couple days where it got up to 70 degrees, so we’re behind most of the US in planting

We moved the fire pit up front more, to keep it away from the garden.

It looks pretty cool at night with the lights on.

We had visitors, from the KOA corporate office, here this week.  Today we had a training session in cabin cleaning and set up…new linens and a different way of making beds ~ LOL!

Anyway, it’s fun, so far and we’re enjoying the park & the area.

You really have made some grand changes that look great. Hope you have better luck with your garden then our neighbor down here has had with his tomato plants. He has a running battle going on with the rabbits - finally got chicken wire and I think he's winning.
