It finally stopped raining yesterday! We took a Whale Watching Boat tour for about 4 hours and really enjoyed it.
Getting pictures of the whales was next to impossible though…they don’t stay surfaced very long and all the ones we saw were quite a ways away from the boat. It was still pretty exciting to see them, we also saw a couple seals and porpoise. This is the best I could do on pictures.
Then we headed over to The Lobster Dock for dinner. The Lobster Dock has been featured on The Food Network - Throwdown with Bobby Flay, for the crab cakes. It was a perfect day to sit outside & enjoy a cold beer and boiled lobster! John says whole lobster is too much work so he got scallops and just watched me make a pig out of myself. :)
Boothbay is a neat little town, we decided we needed more time here so we extended our campsite for one more night.
This morning we went into town, had some of the local Moosehead Coffee, and browsed around the shops. Came back to the campground to give the dogs a relief break and we’ll go back into town for dinner. The campground runs a shuttle into the village so it makes life easier….the town was not designed to drive a motorhome though ~ LOL!
A bit of good news came to us on Wednesday….we got a position at a RV Resort in Arizona for the Fall/Winter season! We’ll get a free site and use of all facilities for 21 hours a week of helping with Events & Activities. Either one of us can do the 21 hours or we can split it. We’re really looking forward to it…it’s only about 1 hour South of Ken & Sherry, so we’re excited about seeing them more often. I got my CNA License in AZ and I hope to be able to work a couple days a week at a hospice or nursing home to keep up my skills.
Tomorrow we’ll head South…not sure what route we’ll take, but the next major stop will be Virginia Beach to visit John’s son then back to GA for a few weeks.
