A Trip to the Grocery...Passport Required

So, we're off for the weekend, yesterday was payday, and the weather is gorgeous!  We decided to make the trip up to Whitehorse, YT to hit a Walmart & a real grocery store....the market in Skagway has a limited selection.  It's about 100 mile trip.

The scenery here is so Overwhelmingly Amazing that it literally takes my breath away.

How many times have you seen a lake so clear that you could see the reflection of the mountains???

We stopped to watch this little guy having a snack of dandelions

He wasn't the least bit interested in us.....but yes, Mother....we stayed in the car and were perfectly safe.  :)

It's been up in the low 80's here this past week, so the snow is melting fast and there are lots of cool waterfalls coming out of the mountains.

I'm Absolutely Falling In Love with this place.....

Then we get to the grocery & I feel raped by the prices we have had to pay.  We did find some organic beef... and since I'm pretty sick of chicken & fish, we paid the price.  The girl  I work with brought me some Moose meat, so I'm gonna try that this week.  Her sister & Brother-in-law are full-time residents here, & he does a lot of hunting, so they donated some moose meat to me.  :)

Love your update - So glad to hear you are lovin' the experience. Scenery here pretty spectacular too.

Our prices here are not too bad at all - not much higher than Arizona for most food etc. Diesel, of course, is much higher.

Tomorrow we drive down to Seward and Wednesday take the 9 hour Fiords tour - watch our blog
