We made it to Texas!
We arrived at Escapees Headquarters & RV Park on Thursday, around lunch time. Escapees is an RV organization that we are members of…it’s a huge network and a great organization. We got a site and hooked up then went to the Club House for Social Hour. There are a lot of Semi-Permanent residents here too, that own lots on the property.
This morning we went to breakfast at the Care Center then took a tour of it. The Care Center is kind of like Assisted Living for RV folks. If you can’t travel anymore, you can park here and they provide 3 meals a day, monitoring for emergencies, a Nurse & CNA, rides to doctor appointments, housekeeping & laundry services. It can be for those who are permanently off the road or for someone who is recovering from an injury or surgery. It’s an amazing part of this organization. Volunteers sign up for 1 or 2 months at a time….I haven’t volunteered us yet, but John knows it’s coming ~ LOL! Hopefully, next year we’ll find a couple months we can come back here and do that.
Oh, and look what I found in Livingston, TX….Beatty Ave!
Tomorrow we’re driving to San Antonio. We have reservations for 4 days at the RV Park on Fort Sam Houston Army Post. Ft Sam is on the East side of San Antonio near the Alamo & Riverwalk…it’s more convenient than Lackland AFB RV Park. We had a good experience at the military campground in VA Beach so we’re hoping this one will be as good.
