New Orleans

We arrived in Louisiana on Sunday evening and moved into a RV park in Slidell, LA.

Monday we went over to look up an old co-worker of mine from the days at R&R. It was great to see Dan and catch up on what’s been happening in our lives for the past few years….and he got to meet John. Then we drove down to spend the day in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

We started with lunch…John had the traditional Muffuletta

I had a Shrimp PoBoy (No Picture ‘cause I was busy eating)

John got taken in a joke by a local shoe shine man and ended up paying for a shine he didn’t need…but it was fun.

We walked the streets of the French Quarters, just window shopping and enjoying the sights

Of course, the trip wouldn’t be complete without Cafe Au Lait & Beignets at Cafe Du Monde

Tuesday evening we met Dan & Nancy at Mulate’s for a Cajun Experience.

We shared a Cajun Appetizer Platter that included Frog legs, Alligator, and more normal food like crawfish tails. Here’s John munching on a frog leg

The food was incredible…I had a Grilled Cajun Seafood Platter, way too much food for one person.

Then we enjoyed the band and dancing
