Last Week in Alaska

We'll be leaving here next Saturday and heading back to Georgia for a couple weeks.  We got an early release, so we're in the first group of 5 couples leaving...The rest will leave a week later.  The plan now, is to spend a few weeks at home then go to Campbellsville, KY and work the Amazon.com Distribution Center Oct 24th - Dec 23rd.

Our plan is to drive farther into British Columbia and reenter the US near Great Falls Montana, then head East.  We're planning on taking I-90 over to Wisconsin and hopefully meet up with George & Carol & the others (from AZ) if they're still in that area.  Then we'll head South.

We spent this past weekend getting the coach ready for the trip...lots of packing up to do after sitting for 5 months.  Sunday was a nice day and everyone was out working on packing & prep for the trip.  Gus had his barber shop open in the clubhouse, so I got my hair cut again...pretty nice having a hairdresser in the camp.

The Employee Appreciation Party was last night, another great time with good friends and lots of yummy food.  We're very lucky to have had the opportunity to work for such wonderful people.  We'll definitely miss this place and will probably return at some point.

Here's a picture of Rebeka (on the left) at the party last night...she delivered a healthy baby boy at 2:30 am this morning.  It was her second home birth. They are full-time residents of Skagway and Mark works in our warehouse.  They live in the park with us, but had the baby at a friends house.  didn't make it to the friend's house as planned, so she had the baby on the couch.

It's currently 43 degrees, at 8:30 am...forecast high of 61 today.  I'm ready to go South and catch a little bit of Summer.

Today is Phoebe's 8th Birthday!  She still misses Scruffy, but we hope to find her a new friend once we finish up in KY.

Have a great trip back to the lower 48. Hopefully we'll meet up somewhere soon.
